Hey everyone!

We're back with your regularly scheduled fulfillment update.

Fulfillment is progressing well, and we're pleased to announce we're back on track! March and February waves have been shipped out fully, barring some late/incomplete surveys, and orders that are not possible to ship at this time due to postal restrictions. April is a much smaller wave, so we don't expect any issues completing this one fast. We'll then move right into pre-orders!

Speaking of which... they're still open! However, we are closing down pre-orders on April 15th. So, if you've got any friends that admire your dice often and keep talking about how they're going to snag a set... let them know that now's the time!

And with that, let's take a look at the numbers!

Mid-March Fulfillment Update

Hello everyone!

It's the 15th, and that means it's time for another update! We hit a rough patch last month due to some shipping woes, resulting in a lot of delays on the February wave, regrettably. How are things looking now? Let's find out.

Fulfillment News

The big news is that the February wave is complete! All the previously delayed orders have been shipped out, barring a few that couldn't due to external factors. We've begun shipping March orders, and will be rapidly accelerating that over the next two weeks as our remaining needed inventory arrives. We've confirmed that a major shipment of Dispel Dice for March is (for real) arriving at Wyrmwood tomorrow morning, with the remainder of March stock (5 boxes) due next week, which will allow us to complete shipping the wave.

So, at this point, we've successfully recovered from the February shipping issues. It will take a concerted effort from our shipping department, but we should be back on track with fulfillment by month's end. Good news! And even better: given that April is a significantly smaller wave, we don't anticipate any significant issues with the remainder of fulfillment. That's not to say we can guarantee it, of course, so stay tuned to these updates... but things are looking good!

Until Next Time

Thank you for your patience and support as we complete our recovery from the logistics issues in February. We're happy to report we're getting back on track, and doing all we can to reach that point... and remain there. We're entering the home stretch soon - for those of you in the later waves, your dice are getting closer.

There are still a lot of issues with supply chains, freight and logistics facing the world, and we've still got a lot of packages to ship, so we aren't completely out of the woods yet. But all in all, there's little reason for concern visible on the horizon, and with a little luck, those clear skies will hold steady for the rest of fulfillment on this very large, ambitious project.

March Fulfillment Update

Hello everyone!

We're back with another update, a few days later. If you missed the last one, we hit a shipping snag, and the remaining stock made for the February shipment did not arrive as scheduled, instead being temporarily lost by a freight carrier, before being found and finally sent on its way.

It has arrived at last at Wyrmwood HQ, and is being checked over now. All looks good, and we will begin shipping the remaining February orders Monday at the latest, if not before end of day. We are aiming to have all of these sent out by the end of next week.

The March pieces are due to begin arriving next week, as well, so with luck we will roll right into the March shipments once the remainder of February has gone out.

So, bear all of that in mind as you review the numbers below, which haven't moved much since the last update. The mid-March update should have some big swings on these.

Pre-order Policy Change

Typically, we charge all new pre-orders the first Friday after they've been placed. Moving forward, we'll be changing this to Monday. Please take note, if you're receiving this after recently placing a pre-order. This will go into effect on this coming Monday, March 7th. As such, we have not charged new pre-orders today.

While we definitely hit a speed bump in February, we're happy to finally be clear to accelerate again. As we shift into the latter half of fulfillment, please be mindful of any messages sent your way - we have a number of backers that have surveys still needing to be filled out, missing payment information, credit card issues, and other problems - if you receive a message from BackerKit concerning your order, please be sure to read it and make sure no action is required on your part to resolve it.

Unscheduled Update: February Fulfillment News

Hello everyone!

Karen here with a February fulfillment update!

A bit of a snag... 

Although production has been running smoothly and is on time, we've hit a bit of a snag with freight. A number of Wave 3: February backers will be receiving their pledge rewards roughly 1-2 weeks late due to these complications. 

For a bit of context -- Dispel Dice are made in a Dispel facility overseas, sanded and polished in the states, shipped back overseas for painting and packaging. Upon completion, they are shipped back to the states using a third party freight forwarding service. Finally, UPS is responsible for the last mile delivery to our warehouse in California. At that time, we account for our inventory, and then book freight to send the inventory to Wyrmwood in Massachusetts for fulfillment to backers.

While Dispel has shipped the totality of Wave 3: February from our overseas facility in mid-January on time, roughly 32 boxes of dice were delayed in transit due to an error on our freight forwarding service's part. During last mile delivery, our boxes were misplaced due to a dispute between the freight forwarding service and UPS. For several days, these 32 boxes were unaccounted for, and we went to great lengths to locate them, including getting into the freight forwarder's warehouse - uninvited - to search for them, in hopes of locating them quickly enough to make the February deadline. Unfortunately, it is now too late to make that cutoff... however, there is a happy ending: the dice have all been located and returned to our freight forwarding service's warehouse by UPS just yesterday.

The shipment is now safely in the Dispel warehouse in California. We've booked expedited freight for the final leg of their journey to Wyrmwood, with the dice due to arrive this coming week, on Wednesday, March 2nd. So the orders waiting on these items - approximately 2,000 of them - will be unable to ship until late next week.

We will not be working with this freight forwarding service in the future, and all Wave 3: February backers who receive late shipping notices will receive a $25 gift certificate for the Dispel Dice webstore to be delivered via your BackerKit email after the fulfillment of the campaign. FAQ

How do I know if I'm affected by the delay?

If you do not receive a shipping confirmation by Monday, February 28th, then it is safe to assume that you have been impacted by the delayed freight and will receive an email from us shortly. We would greatly appreciate your patience in the next week - if you are a February backer and still haven't received your order by the time of the mid-March update, feel free to contact us, but, due to the sheer volume of impacted orders, we'd ask you to refrain until then if at all possible.

Will this affect Wave 4: March backers? 

We don't think so. While it does cause a bit of a backup, effectively meaning we have 2,000 more orders to fulfill in March, we will be starting to fulfill March orders as soon as fulfillment wraps on February, and we expect to have no problem catching up. Faster, more reliable freight means smoother fulfillment as well, so we should be back on track in March.

I'd like to sincerely apologize on Dispel's behalf for the delay caused by this mixup between the freight forwarding service and UPS. The Wyrmwood and Dispel teams are working hard to get your dice to you as quickly as possible, and appreciate your patience and understanding during this wild time.

It's a challenging time to fulfill any campaign, let alone one of this magnitude, but we're working hard to wrap it up on time and doing everything we can to insulate you from the delays, problems, inconsistencies and all manner of curve-balls that the logistics industry is throwing at us - and dealing with themselves.

As a result of this update being so close to the end of the month, we may push our March 1st update out a few days. Doing that will allow the shipment some time to have been received at Wyrmwood, and we can share quite solid, definitive information on how March is likely to look by then. So don't panic if you don't see that update on Tuesday; you will see it come through by the end of the week, and with more useful information.
